The latest version of WhatsApp, 23.2.0.75, has just been sent via the TestFlight beta program. So, what was added in this update?

Reacting to messages within a notification group is a new feature in development, according to a recent report from WABetaInfo. Several users have reportedly found themselves unable to respond to messages sent within the WhatsApp Community Notification Group.

Responding to messages in the Community Announcements group is not possible as this would expose your phone number. WhatsApp is working to hide your phone number when replying to messages in this particular group.

WABetaInfo has learned that WhatsApp is working on the same feature for a future update to the iOS app, thanks to the recently released beta version of WhatsApp for iOS 23.2.0.75.

This screenshot shows that WhatsApp is developing “an in-app banner that announces when an update is available that brings reactions to messages within a notification group.”
In this situation, a WhatsApp update from the App Store or the TestFlight app will be required to respond to messages sent within the Community Notifications group.

In the next version, the function of replying to messages sent within the community announcement group will be made available. More details regarding the update will be available when the feature is made available to some beta testers.

The TestFlight build is 23.2.0 (441749694) and the WhatsApp version is marked as 2.23.2.75 in the settings.
