Top five premium Upcoming Smartphones in August 2022

The first half of 2022 saw the introduction of the premium Samsung Galaxy S22 series with a 108MP camera, the OnePlus 10 Pro, the Realme G2 Pro 2 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and the iPhone SE (3rd Gen) with the powerful Apple A15 Bionic silicon.

Last month, two other premium phones Asus ROG Phone 6 series and Xiaomi 12 Ultra had their global premiere along with Google Pixel 6a feature.

Now, in August, all the tech companies are ready to bring more premium smartphones.

Here is a list of the top five smartphones that have been confirmed to make their global debut in August 2022:

iQOO 9T

Upstart iQOO is set to unveil the company’s most powerful phone yet, the 9T series, on August 2.
It has a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and dual SIM card slots and the front panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 series.

It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor supported by vapor chamber technology, FuntouchOS based on Android 12, 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB/256GB storage and 4700mAh battery with 120W charger.

The iQOO 9T is said to boast a dedicated V1+ photography chipset to power a triple-camera module – a 50MP main + 13MP ultra-wide + 12MP depth sensor with LED flash on the back and a 16MP sensor on the front.

Motorola Edge X30 Pro

The Lenovo-owned company will also unveil the Motorola Edge X30 Pro on August 2. It will initially be available in China.

The USP of the upcoming smartphone is the photography hardware. It will boast a 200MP main sensor backed by dual cameras with LED flash on the back.

It is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, Android 12 OS and offer all-day battery life as well as support for 100W charging speed. Other details like battery capacity and display aren’t available, but we’ll have to wait a few hours to see what will be available in China on Tuesday.

OnePlus 10T

The OnePlus 10T will be launched on August 3. It is said to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint sensor, OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 4,800mAh battery with a 150W charger (can fully charged from zero to 100 percent in 20 minutes).

It will feature a triple camera module – 50MP main sensor + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro sensor – with LED flash on the back and a 16MP camera on the front.

Samsung Galaxy Fold4

Samsung has already announced that it will host a Galaxy Unpacked event to unveil the new Galaxy Fold4 on August 10.

It is said to come with two display panels – a 6.2-inch screen on the front and inside, it may house a wider 7.6-inch flexible OLED screen. Both displays are said to support a 120Hz refresh rate. The device can also come with IP68 water and dust resistance.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 8GB RAM/12GB RAM, up to 1TB storage and 4400mAh battery.

It will also feature a triple camera setup on the back – 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom with LED flash on the back. It will have a 10MP sensor on the cover display. And it will have a 16MP camera on the wide-angle panel.

Samsung Galaxy Flip4

In addition to the Fold4, Samsung also brings the Galaxy Flip4. It is said to come with a 6.7-inch display that can be folded vertically. The company has reportedly incorporated an improved bendable display panel that will last longer than previous iterations. Also on the front, it will have a larger 2.1-inch display compared to the predecessor’s 1.9-inch display.

It is said to feature One UI 4 OS based on Android 12, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 3,700mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging speed, 10W wireless charging speed, reverse wireless charging 5 W Speed.

The Galaxy Flip4 is expected to feature a dual-camera module – a main 12MP wide (with OIS) backed by a 12MP 123-degree ultra-wide lens with LED flash and 4K video recording capability. A 10MP sensor is expected on the front.
