Kevin Bacon’s long-awaited MCU cameo has finally been revealed in a new trailer for The Guardians of The Galaxy: Holiday Special.

The Marvel spin-off, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan and Vin Diesel, is confirmed to premiere on Disney+ on November 25, 2022.

Bacon is often referred to as “Earth’s Great Hero” in the MCU thanks to Star-Lord’s affinity for Footloose and other ’80s culture, and the trailer reveals he’ll appear as himself in the one-shot.

The festive game will follow the Guardians of the Galaxy as they return to Earth to give Star-Lord, played by Pratt, the best Christmas ever by getting him Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon himself.

Drax [Bautista] and Mantis [Klementieff] visit Bacon’s Hollywood mansion and try to kidnap him to bring him back to Milan to cheer Star-Lord up for the holidays.

The trailer also confirms the return of Cosmo the Spacedog.

And while the holiday special may seem like it’s all about holiday fun and Kevin Bacon on the outside, director James Gunn has promised that the film will fill in the gaps of what the gang was up to between Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy St. 3.

He said: “Although the Holiday Special is a standalone story, it contains lots of new fun facts about what the Guardians have been up to all these years.”

Bacon, 64, told Yahoo Movies UK in 2020 how he was eager to appear in a Marvel film.

He said, “Tell Marvel, man. I can go. I haven’t heard anything about it yet, but I’d like to.”

In case you thought there was only one more Marvel Cinematic Universe release to look forward to this year — “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” — these wacky characters remind us of one of the most magical times of the year.
The trailer for ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ is here and features the introduction of the MCU’s newest recruit – Kevin Bacon.

The Baconator (which would totally be his superhero name if he had one) makes a special guest appearance on the Disney+ special edition, seen in the trailer below running away from Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff). You see, Star Lord (Chris Pratt) hasn’t been feeling great ever since Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) decided not to rejoin a group of lost people traveling through space, and the Guardians want to give him a gift that will never be. forget to cheer him up.

And so it seems likely that even though the Multiverse is in play in the MCU right now (even Wolverine is back!), Marvel Studios decided to forget that Bacon played X-Men supervillain Sebastian Shaw in X-Men: First Class. ” from 2011. Or maybe we get a smaller tip-of-the-hat link. somewhere along the special edition.

Judging by the trailer, ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ appears to be nothing more than a fun Christmas edition starring Karen Gillan (Nebula), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot) and of course Cosmo the Spacedog (voiced by Maria Bakalova). Hopefully a bit more of a meatier theme will develop, likely setting up ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, which is due out next May.

Here’s the trailer for James Gunn’s first project with Marvel Studios since his well-publicized firing from Disney in 2018.
