Independence day long speech for students in english

Good morning everyone!

We are all here today to acknowledge our privilege of being born in a free India and to celebrate our country’s 75th Independence Day. We need to ask those born before 1947 to know the pain of being enslaved under colonial rule. It was indeed a herculean task for any Indian at that time to fight against those mighty giants – the British.

We must not allow these hard times and struggles to fade from our memories. So every Independence Day, we not only celebrate our freedom, but we also pay tribute to those who fought for it, those who had a vision for our country, and those who sacrificed for it.

The idea of being an independent nation, where the sovereign power to determine our future rests with us, places a huge responsibility on our shoulders. The significance of his beautiful story is that this nation has earned the respect of the world for the democratic path it has chosen. We can proudly say that India has never invaded any country in its 10,000 year history.

On this occasion, our thoughts turn first to Mahatma Gandhi, the man behind our freedom struggle and the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for our country’s freedom. We also recall the ruthless struggle of our great patriots who freed our homeland from colonial rule.

Gandhiji sought freedom from both foreign rule and the indigenous social chains that had long imprisoned our society. Every second Indian was led on the path of self-confidence and hope for a better future. Democracy gives us the right to live freely as proud citizens of the country. Today we are fortunate to live in one, thanks to the vision and sacrifice of our freedom fighters.

In Delhi, every year there is a big celebration at Rajpath where the National Anthem is sung after the Prime Minister hoists the flag. There is also a 21-gun salute to the national flag with the national anthem and flowers are also showered by helicopter. All forces participate in parades. In conclusion, we cannot just say that August 15 is only about freedom.

This day is an overflow of emotions, reminding us of the pain of enslavement; about strength in unity; it defines sacrifice, gives us an example that some wars can be won through non-violence, and of all things makes us appreciate and honor the freedom we have today. It is our responsibility as proud citizens of this country to sincerely do our duty and work together for the growth and development of our country. Considering the sacrifices of our forefathers, we should take an oath to ensure a better future for our motherland.

Jai Hindu!

Every year on August 15, India celebrates Independence Day as a national holiday, when people remember the long period of our nation’s independence from British rule. On August 15, 1947, India gained independence after a series of movements in which many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. After independence, on 15 August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Indian Prime Minister to hoist the national flag at the Red Fort near Delhi’s Lahore Gate.

By unfurling the national flag and singing the national anthem, students, teachers, parents and other individuals come together to celebrate Independence Day. The Prime Minister of India in the capital of New Delhi at the Red Fort also hosts our national flag. Afterwards, a 21-gun salute is fired and a helicopter showers the flag with tricolor flowers.

The colors on our flag represent different things; saffron means courage and sacrifice, white means peace and truth, green means faith and chivalry. In the center of our flag is the Ashok Chakra, which contains 24 evenly spaced points. We commemorate the great sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Raj Guru, Gandhiji and other brave freedom fighters on this special day for their unforgettable contribution to India’s independence.
